Visit the Beach

First things first: when you’re on an island, you have to visit the beach, and Hilton Head Island is no exception! Hilton Head Island Beach itself is one of the most popular spots to see; it features picturesque beaches and plenty of opportunities for swimming and fishing. If you want a place where you can walk or bike along the shorelines, Coligny Beach Park is one of the best places to do that. Finally, Burkes Beach has a huge stretch of sand with plenty of parking to accommodate all guests on even the busiest days.

Check Out the Local Shopping

You’ve got to pick out a fun souvenir while you’re on vacation, and luckily, one of the most fun things to do on Hilton Head Island is shopping! The Coligny Plaza Shopping Center has all kinds of beachy brands like Billy’s Beach Club, Jake’s Shore Thing, Island Girl, and others, along with nationally known brands like Soma Intimates and Francesca’s. Another excellent option for Hilton Head Island shopping is Shelter Cove Towne Center, which allows you to shop and dine right next to the water! Get new clothes at Belk, groceries at Kroger, a unique painting at ArtWare, or an accessory at Heritage Fine Jewelry.

Experience the Island by Bike Ride

Driving around the island is fine, but it’s better experienced on a bike! Hilton Head Island has several incredible places where you and your family can ride your bikes and see some of the most beautiful nature on the island. Fish Haul Creek Park, Greens Shell Community Park, and the Barker Field Observation Deck are just a few places to check out on your bike. And if you don’t want to bring your bike all the way to Hilton Head Island with you from home, don’t worry. There are quite a few convenient bike rental shops for you to take advantage of!

Check Out the Local Restaurants

No vacation would be complete without sampling the local cuisine. Hilton Head Island is full of some delicious restaurants, three of which are located right here at Hilton Head Island Beach and Tennis Resort! We are proud to be home to CocoNutz Sportz Bar, Gator’z, and Jamaica Joe’z. For even more options, though, you can head to Skull Creek Boathouse for a laid-back meal with delicious Southern classics or go upscale with a romantic dinner at the Sage Room.

Go Fishing

Hilton Head Island is known for tons of outdoor activities, but one of the most popular is fishing! Here, you can cast your line in hopes of catching flounder, tarpon, black drum, redfish, trout, and many others. Whether you’re a beginner or consider yourself a seasoned pro, there’s a fun challenge for you here. You can head out to the pier or on the water by yourself, but if you want a bit more help, book a fishing charter! Companies like Hilton Head Fishing Adventures and Off the Hook Fishing Charters can help get you set up for a day of fun on the water.
